Tara
Hi, I'm Tara. I teach mathematics from NCERT textbooks for classes 6–10. This page collects my chapter notes, worked examples and practice problems for my students.

Chapter 1 — Rational Numbers
Properties, representation on the number line, operations.
What we'll cover
- Closure, commutativity, associativity under addition and multiplication
- Representation of rational numbers on the number line
- Finding rational numbers between two given rationals
Try this
- Show that the sum of two rational numbers is always rational.
- Find three rational numbers between 2/5 and 3/4.

Chapter 2 — Linear Equations in One Variable
Solving equations with the variable on both sides; applications.
Key idea
A linear equation in one variable has the form
ax + b = 0wherea ≠ 0. The solution is the value ofxthat makes both sides equal.Worked example
Solve:
3(x − 2) + 5 = 2x + 43x − 6 + 5 = 2x + 4 3x − 1 = 2x + 4 x = 5

Chapter 1 — Number Systems
Real numbers, irrationals, decimal expansions.
Real numbers can be either rational or irrational. Every real number corresponds to a unique point on the number line. We'll see why √2 is irrational, and what makes a decimal expansion terminating, recurring, or non-recurring.
How my classes work
Each chapter starts with a short concept walk-through, followed by worked examples and a small set of practice problems. Doubts can be sent to me on WhatsApp — I usually reply the same evening.
